25.10.2018 od 09:16 do 10:05

There are fish, …and then there are FISH. Lurking in the murky depths of the world's great waterways are bizarre giants-specimens of such enormous proportion and odd appearance they boggle the mind. In his quest to save the world's big fish, aquatic ecologist Zeb Hogan has wrangled some of the biggest freshwater fish in the world. In this episode, we follow him as he goes in search of one of North America's toothiest and most misunderstood monster fish: the alligator gar. These bizarre creatures reach lengths of 10 feet and have a mouthful of razor-sharp teeth. They've disappeared from their former northern ranges, and are now disappearing from the bayous and marshes of the southern United States. They're under assault because of their fearsome appearance, rumors of attacks on humans, and the belief by some anglers who believe they devour game fish. We join Zeb Hogan as he comes face to face with an alligator gar and discovers if the myths about this monster are true.
